The Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM) is a private state-approved University of Applied Sciences counting around 5 thousand students. Founded in Bielefeld in 2000 by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the FHM is nowadays one of the most successful private universities in Germany with 8 further campus across Germany. The unique feature of the FHM is a strong focus on the needs of German SMEs. Anadolu University (AU) was founded in 1982 and is nowadays a dual-mode dynamic and innovative higher education institution. Situated in the center of Eskişehir, its campus houses 12 faculties (three of which offer distance education, 3 applied, 2 vocational and 6 graduate schools, and 30 research centers. AU has been a pioneering institution on implementing the distance education system. Today, the total number of students of the three distance education faculties is over 3 million. The success in the development of this system has been taken as a model by many institutions in various countries.

Liepaja University (LiepU) is a symbol of education, science and culture of Liepaja and Kurzeme regions that provides competitive, internationally recognized and varied education. LiepU was founded in 1954 on the basis of Teacher Training Institute. Nowadays it is accredited state higher education institution, which implements study programmes at all three study levels: Bachelor, Master and Doctorate studies. With about 1400 students, LiepU has its own anthem, coat of arms, logo and a banner and it has more than 20 thousand graduates.

UNINETTUNO is an Italian distance University. Established with the decree in April, 15th 2005 by the Italian Minister of Education, University and Research, it is born from NETTUNO – Network for the University Everywhere, a Consortium of 43 Italian and foreign universities which provided, since 1992, distance university courses to thousands of students using Sat-TV and Internet technologies applied to distance education. Today UNINETTUNO has six Faculties with about 23000 students enrolled, coming from more than 160 different countries of the world.
